New route aims to boost trade between Pakistan and China

Islamabad, Pakistan – April 15, 2025 – K2 Airways, a Pakistani cargo airline, has announced a new partnership with a Chinese government-owned logistics firm to launch cargo flights between Pakistan and China. The agreement, signed at a ceremony in Karachi, will see K2 Airways operate three weekly flights from Karachi to Kashgar, China, with a stopover in Lahore. The flights are scheduled to begin later this month.

“K2 Airways will soon operate cargo flights from Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad to more Chinese cities,” stated Tariq Raja, CEO of K2 Airways.

The agreement, signed at a ceremony in Karachi, will see K2 Airways operate three weekly flights from Karachi to Kashgar, China, with a stopover in Lahore. The flights are scheduled to begin later this month.

A representative from the Chinese logistics firm highlighted the importance of Kashgar as a significant commercial hub in China. The partnership aims to facilitate the transport of a variety of goods between the two countries. This includes seafood destined for Chinese consumers, IT products, and fruits and vegetables from Pakistan, as well as e-commerce goods originating from China.

The current frequency is three weekly flights to Pakistan, with the potential for an increase as the system becomes established.
