Lahore, Pakistan – Jordan is actively exploring trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan, as evidenced by a recent delegation’s participation in the Health, Engineering and Minerals Show (HEMS) 2025 held in Lahore. The event, organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), served as a platform for Jordanian and Pakistani businesses to connect and explore potential collaborations.

In an article published by the Jordan Times titled “Jordan explores trade opportunities at Pakistan’s HEMS 2025” and authored by JT, concerns were raised regarding the current trade volume between the two countries. The article, available at Jordan explores trade opportunities at Pakistan’s HEMS 2025, states, “such engagements are ‘key’ to boosting commercial ties, expanding market access, and creating ‘new’ business opportunities for Jordanian exporters and importers,” according to JT.

Official figures indicate that in 2024, Jordan’s exports to Pakistan reached approximately JD7 million, while imports from Pakistan totaled around JD30 million.

The Jordanian delegation comprised representatives from various sectors, including construction, sanitary ware, electrical appliances, building materials, and agribusiness. These delegates engaged with Pakistani counterparts to exchange knowledge, explore joint ventures, and identify areas for trade and investment, particularly in healthcare, engineering, and metal industries.

Official figures indicate that in 2024, Jordan’s exports to Pakistan reached approximately JD7 million, while imports from Pakistan totaled around JD30 million. This trade imbalance highlights the potential for increased collaboration and mutual benefit.

Beyond the HEMS 2025 event, Jordanian delegates also traveled to Sialkot to meet with members of the local chamber of commerce and industry. These discussions centered on a memorandum of understanding designed to facilitate information exchange, co-host economic events, and support the promotion of Jordanian products within the Pakistani market, while simultaneously encouraging investment opportunities for both nations.

Pakistan and Jordan have a history of cordial relations and are working to strengthen bilateral ties. Recent high-level consultations have emphasized the need to enhance economic and trade relations, as well as people-to-people contacts.

The HEMS 2025 exhibition, which took place from April 17-19 at the Expo Centre Lahore, featured over 194 exhibitors and around 900 delegates from 70 countries. The event showcased a diverse range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, automotive parts, and minerals.
