Islamabad, Pakistan – April 9, 2025 – In a significant move highlighting the growing focus on sustainable transportation in Pakistan, BYD Pakistan, the local arm of the globally renowned Chinese New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has announced its partnership with the highly anticipated 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as the official mobility partner. The collaboration promises to electrify the popular cricket tournament, scheduled to take place across four major Pakistani cities from April 11th to May 18th.

A joint press release emphasized the synergy between the partnership, stating that it “unites the nation’s most thrilling sporting event and the high-tech global NEV leader in the automotive industry — highlighting a shared commitment to innovation, excellence, and sustainability.”

As part of this exciting sponsorship, BYD’s latest range of New Energy Vehicles will be prominently displayed during various PSL matches held across the country. BYD’s entry and expansion into the Pakistani electric vehicle market is being facilitated through a strategic partnership with Mega Motor Company (MMC), a well-established subsidiary of the Hub Power Company (HUBCO). This collaboration underscores the commitment of both entities towards introducing and promoting eco-friendly transportation solutions within Pakistan.

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to promoting sustainable mobility and eco-friendly transportation solutions in Pakistan.”

Speaking at the official signing ceremony that formalized the agreement between BYD and PSL, Syed Haider Mujtaba, the General Manager of Marketing at Mega Motor Company, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration. He highlighted that partnering with HBL PSL X presents an invaluable opportunity for the company to connect with millions of ardent cricket fans across the nation while simultaneously showcasing BYD’s innovative and new electric vehicles.

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to promoting sustainable mobility and eco-friendly transportation solutions in Pakistan,” Mr. Mujtaba added, emphasizing the broader environmental implications of the partnership.

The Pakistan Super League, widely recognized as HBL PSL due to sponsorship affiliations, stands as Pakistan’s premier professional Twenty20 cricket league, organized under the auspices of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Since its inception by the PCB in 2015, the league has grown immensely in popularity, featuring six franchise teams representing different cities across the country. The current reigning champions of the league are Islamabad United.
